An Academic and Scientific Agreement Between the University of Zakho and the Mardin Artuklu University Was Signed

On 27th of October, 2015, an academic and scientific agreement between the University of Zakho and the Mardin Artuklu University was signed in the city of Mardin/ Turkey by Assist. Prof. Dr. Abdulwahab Khalid Musa, Vice- President of the University of Zakho for Students Affairs and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Agirakca, the President of Mardin Artuklu University. The Vice- President of the University of Zakho for Students Affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Abdulwahab Khalid Musa, acted as the representative of the President of the University of Zakho, Assist. Prof. Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jameel. This Agreement was drawn up in two originals in each of the Kurdish, English, and Turkish languages with each of these papers being equally authentic and legally valid.

This academic and scientific Agreement between the University of Zakho and the Mardin Artuklu University was realized in order to promote educational and cultural cooperation in the areas of education, research and other activities. Besides the issues like sharing academic publications and materials, both universities will encourage direct contact and cooperation programs between faculties, departments, teaching staff, students, and research institutes.

Specific areas of cooperation between the two universities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Exchange between faculties;

2. Exchange of students;

3. Exchange of teaching staff;

4. Participation in academic activities, conferences, panels, seminars, symposiums, and cooperation in the organization of such events;

5. Exchange of published academic materials and other information;

6. Special short- term academic programs.


This Agreement will last for a period of five years unless one of the two partner universities expresses a wish to cancel the Agreement.
